The design brief was simple - a contemporary house with traditional elements that accommodates a family of 4, a pet dog, and guests. They wanted their house to have a seamless connection with the outdoors while retaining the internal spatial tonality of being quaint and private.

Situated in the coastal city of Mangalore, the site came with its own set of challenges. Constraints such as the humid weather of Mangalore, an oddly shaped plot, and the undulating terrain of the plot were one of the pressing variables that were addressed during the concept stage.
